Chapter 973 Mordred's Courage! At the same time, Riven stopped abruptly on the porch.

A cold feeling of uneasiness crept up my spine.

She turned her head and saw an ominous dim light coming from her room.

Without any hesitation, Riven turned around and rushed to her room on the second floor.

When she pushed open the door, a smell of old papers and dust hit her in the face, but what attracted her attention more was the desk: the thick book with ancient druid runes engraved on the cover was now open.

This book is a precious gift given to her by Wanda.

"strangeness……"

Raven whispered to herself, her brows furrowed as she ran her fingertips over the rough parchment pages, "I remember it was closed when I left."

She walked quickly forward, bent down and picked up the book.

The moment her fingertips touched the spine of the book——

"Snapped!"

A sudden crisp sound came from the window!

Riven's heart skipped a beat, she quickly closed the book, and walked to the window cautiously.

The night wind rushed in through the open gaps, bringing with it the chill of late autumn.

She reached out and pulled the window sash tight and locked it.

However, just as she was concentrating on closing the window, a slight "pop" sound came from behind her.

The thick druid book was blown to the ground by this "wind".

She didn't even notice that a wisp of extremely fine, almost transparent gray mist was quietly escaping from the gaps between the pages of the book and quickly dissipating into the shadows of the room.

Raven rested her fingers on the cool window latch.

The chill doesn't just come from outside the window.

Is it the wind?Or... something imitating the wind?A cold fear coming from the depths of the soul quietly came over me like a tide, bringing with it the unique, heart-pounding feeling of Halloween.

This night, Riven's magic, like Wanda's, surges under the catalysis of the festival, but it also makes her particularly sensitive to hidden malice.

Outside the farm.

A-Zu was suspended in the air above the alley, his eyes fixed on the twisting and changing magical phantoms below.

"boom!"

Two rays of red heat that had accumulated to the extreme tore through the night sky and fiercely pierced through the group of phantoms.

The phantom burst silently like a soap bubble the moment it came into contact with the light stream.

However, the destructive beam of light did not stop and continued to bombard downwards with overwhelming force.

"Hey!"

The dry corn stalks didn't even have a chance to burn and vaporized instantly.

A huge scorch crater with a diameter of several meters appeared out of nowhere. The soil and remaining roots on the edge flashed dark red sparks like hell. Thick burnt-smelling smoke rose into the sky, blocking out the moonlight.

“Wa ...

Below, the children, some distance from the edge of the scorch pit, screamed in fear.

Peter, Wei and others who had just arrived witnessed this scene and were stunned for a moment.

The spreading flames licked the dry straw and were about to spread across the prairie.

At the critical moment!"boom!!!"

A golden and red meteor slammed down between the children and the scorched earth pit.

Horus' power armor released freezing substances, instantly ruthlessly extinguishing all the flames that had just sprung up around him.

Amid the smoke and dust, Horus' body covered with the "Farm" emblem slowly stood up.

The moonlight outlined the cold and majestic lines of the power armor.

Horus's visor-covered head turned slightly, scanning the battlefield.

This impactful "Halloween costume" instantly stunned all the crying children.

Even the little guys dressed up as ghosts forgot their fear and opened their eyes wide. There were even a few brave ones who forgot the danger and gathered around the huge steel statue out of curiosity.

On the other side, Peter's face was so gloomy that water could drip out of it.

He looked at the mess on the ground, the splattered pumpkin pulp and broken shells, the shocking charred pits, the rising gray smoke, the crushed candies, and the frightened little ghosts with tear marks on their faces.

Finally, Peter's gaze pierced Azu, who was hanging in the air with a hint of regret on his face.

"John!"

Peter's voice was not loud, but it made A-Zu feel a little scared.

"From now on, you clean up every pumpkin peel, every candy crumb, every burnt corn stalk, every inch of land soiled by slime, dirt, and your damned heat vision - not a single corner is left out! Use your hands! Use a broom! Use your strength! Do you understand?"

A'zu's body stiffened in the air for a moment, his lips moving as if he wanted to refute, but under Peter's unquestionable "fatherly" gaze, he finally slowly landed and walked towards the charred ruins with a bitter face.

Jane walked over to Peter and looked at the still smoking charred pit with worry, her brows furrowed. "What were those phantoms just now? Peter?"

Peter shook his head, his eyes solemn: "I don't know, but it's definitely not a good person. It feels like some kind of... malicious projection."

"It could be a real ghost, Dad!"

Baobao suddenly jumped out from the side, with an expression of excitement and fear deliberately mixed on his face, his big eyes sparkling in the night, "Today is Halloween! The gate of hell might really be opened a crack!"

Peter was stunned for a moment, looking at his daughter's rare display of superstition, a trace of helplessness and a feeling of being unable to laugh or cry appeared on his tense face.

He reached out and ruffled Baobao's messy colored hair: "When did you start believing this?"

"Just today!"

Boom! raised his chin confidently and gave Peter a sly and slightly smug smile, "It's a Halloween special!"

While Peter and his friends were discussing the origin of Halloween ghosts, Raven and Mordred, who stayed behind in the farmhouse, were already in real trouble. In the living room, the energetic young knight Mordred was imitating her dog "Murphy", chasing and playing on the floor with her hands and feet, and her cheerful laughter echoed in the house.

"Knock! Knock! Knock!"

There was a clear and sudden knock on the door.

"I'll open the door!"

Xiao Mo immediately jumped up from the ground and rushed to the door like an agile little leopard.

The door opened.

There were three children in strange costumes standing outside the door: a goblin with green skin and protruding fangs; a ghost with a vague figure wrapped in tattered white cloth; and another one, with a huge pumpkin lantern covering his entire head, which looked particularly weird in the night.

The smile on little Mordred's face froze instantly.

A cold, foul and ominous aura came towards her, causing her golden pupils to shrink instinctively.

There was no childish words of "trick or treat", and the goblin's suddenly raised hand responded to her.

"Oh!"

His palm slammed hard into Xiao Mo's chest, who was unsuspecting.

Little Mordred's young body was knocked into the air and fell heavily on the ground a few meters away, letting out a painful groan.

"Trick or treat."

The pumpkin head let out a dull and weird laugh, and the sound seemed to come from the inside of a rotten pumpkin. "Get ready to die on this Halloween night!"

The noise upstairs instantly alarmed Riven.

"stop!"

A loud shout came from the stairs.

Then Riven's figure slid down like a shadow and stood in front of Xiao Mo.

Her eyes were as sharp as knives and instantly locked onto the three uninvited guests at the door.

She recognized the outfit: "Is it you? The ones on the street during the day..."

She had seen the three teenagers on the street during the day and they had greeted her.

"We are servants of the Eternal One!"

Pumpkinhead interrupted her rudely, but before he could finish his words, two scarlet lights suddenly lit up in the eye sockets of his pumpkin lantern.

"Whizzing!"

Two pale green magic rays spit out like poisonous snakes, tearing through the air and shooting straight at Riven.

Riven's body swayed slightly, and she dodged it by a hair's breadth.

The ray brushed past her raised hair and hit the wall behind her, creating a cloud of rubble and dust.

"Go to hell!"

The completely enraged little Mordred, regardless of the pain, let out a roar like a young animal, and his small body burst out at an astonishing speed, and he once again fearlessly pounced on the elusive ghost.

"Stupid struggle!"

The ghost let out a hollow laugh, and its body instantly became almost completely transparent.

It did not dodge or evade, allowing Xiao Mo's figure to penetrate its half-empty body.

"Ugh—!"

At the moment of penetration, little Mordred screamed in pain.

It was as if countless cold needles pierced her bone marrow and soul at the same time. An invisible force grabbed her and fixed her in the translucent ghost body, making her unable to move.

"Mordred!"

Seeing little Mordred injured, Riven's eyes suddenly lit up with purple.

Although she had some complaints about her father's behavior of "picking up his daughter", Xiao Mo had already been her family and she couldn't just ignore it.

The wand slid into his palm in an instant, the tip of the wand pointed directly at the ghost, and a pure and dazzling silver light burst out.

"Call the gods to protect you!"

A raven phantom made of pure silver light from the Patronus spell screamed and crashed into the ghost.

The ghost let out a sharp wail as if it was splashed with boiling holy water. Its translucent body violently shook and disintegrated, and it was forced to loosen its control over Xiao Mo.

Xiao Mo fell to the ground, curled up and gasped violently, his face pale.

Riven stood with a staff in hand and asked, "Who is the 'Eternal One'? What do you want to do?"

The ghost re-formed in the corner, black mist swirled, and the voice was filled with malice and a hint of fanaticism: "The power of the Immortal has been bestowed upon us! The Spirit of All Hallows' Eve - Jack-O'-Lanterns, Goblins, Ghosts! His orders are supreme! He ordered us to force you, the 'Raven', to use your power to release him!"

"Do it!"

Without waiting for the ghost to finish, Pumpkinhead let out a dull roar and continued to attack Riven.

"Whizzing!"

Two dark green magic rays, several times thicker than the previous ones, tore through the air, bringing with them scorching air waves and a pungent smell of sulfur, blocking all of Riven's evasive angles on the left and right.

Riven frowned, then her slender body twisted and slid sideways with incredible flexibility.

Deep purple magic power exploded under her feet, and she passed by the edge of the ray like a phantom running on the ice.

"Boom!!!"

Brick and stone mixed with fragments of burning wooden beams exploded everywhere.

Almost at the same moment when Riven dodged, little Mordred, who had just recovered from the pain in his soul, was completely ignited by the rage in his blood.
